P.M. Update: The Facebook page set up for the Beaufort County project has a ton of photos from last night's rally, and they're quite good.

Shoot on over to Facebook to give them a look.

January 5: The enthusiastic citizens of Beaufort County who showed at the pep rally last night showed just how excited they are to be the latest hosts of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The event at Lowcountry Community Church in Bluffton drew an estimated crowd of 1,000 people, according to early estimates from the event's coordinators. It's a figure double Savannah's pep rally turnout, and more than $5,000 in proceeds from t-shirts sales were collected.

The show's Senior Producer Milan Vasic, World Design Marketing CEO Wayne Johnson, Food Network star Robert Irvine, and H2 Builders CEO Todd Hawk all spoke at the event, each discussing the different challenges, pressures, and rewards that come with being involved in such a high profile show, and explaining how anyone can get involved throughout build week.

WSAV was also there and has a nice video on the rally; watch that here. Meanwhile Bluffton Today has a lengthy writeup; read that here.

Earlier this week we reported on some additional details about the setup for the show and speculation  that the yet-to-be announced home site would be in northern Beaufort County.
