Pentagon issues stop work order on engine for Marine Corps' F-35B

The much-anticipated F-35B has suffered yet another big setback: The Pentagon has stopped work.

A few month back, the controversial and issue-plagued vertical-takeoff-capable fighter for the Marine Corps was put on a two-year probation.

However, a report from the Cincinnati Business Journal states that lead engine company, GE, will continue funding the engine until a permanent decision is made — a move which can't be cheap.

The move comes as Congress remains locked up in a budget stalemate.
