Officials pushing arts scholarships to keep students at USC Beaufort

In an effort to keep students at the University of South Carolina Beaufort's downtown campus (formally just the University of South Carolina Beaufort) two area leaders are trying to raise money to fund 25 scholarships that would go toward the art program.

A lot has been made over USCB's push to move most of its programming south of the Broad River, but Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling and former Lt. Gov. Brantley Harvey hope these scholarships will maintain the university's presence north of the Broad.
