The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control has reported 22 deaths from the flu season, including one person in Beaufort County.

On the bright side, the number of cases in South Carolina has been trending down from more than 200 per day at the end of December to fewer than 150.

If you're concerned about your risk, SC DHEC maintains a page of tips and information; read it here.

This season is regarded as the most active in a decade, with the worst expected to pass by late January or February.
