Beaufort High School grade changes prompt legal investigation

Former Beaufort High Principal Dan Durbin.

The fallout of Beaufort High School Principal Dan Durbin's grade changing continues to ripple, with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division now investigating.

State law carries fines of up to $1,000 for altering or falsifying high school transcripts and there is some question as to if Durbin's teaching certificate should be revoked.

WTOC 11 has a decent video report and The Island Packet has a more in depth written report.

Durbin is believed to have changed 200 grades for 33 students in all.
