Gun sales surging locally over fears of a new assault weapon debate

Speculation that President Barack Obama could consider a tightening of sales on assault-style weapons is once again fueling a surge in sales across the country.

Writing for The Island Packet, Tom Barton notes that the trend is happening locally as well, with many retailers struggling to keep AR-15 and AK-47 rifles in stock.
