TheDigitel
Three roads totaling a mile of pavement will soon be repaved after the Beaufort County Public Facilities Committee awarded a contract.
[See map below.]
A bid of $598,399 by Beaufort's REA Contracting to repave the Burton and Lady's Island roads (along with 6 miles of roads in Bluffton) was picked as the "most qualified and responsible bid" and came in under the county's estimate of $744,323.50.
To be repaved are:
- .2 miles of Braeburn Lane on Lady’s Island
- .4 miles of Chesterfield Drive in Burton
- .4 miles of Chesterfield Lake Drive, also in Burton
The project is being paid for out of a county account fueled by $10 license plate fees.
You can view detailed repaving maps and information from the bid in this attachment.
A hat tip to Bluffton Today for spotting this one.
