The Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority board of directors on Friday approved increased rates for residential and wholesale customers.

According to a press release the increase will raise rates for the average residential user by about $4 a month.

“A rate increase is something that we undertake reluctantly, and only after much planning and analysis,” said Dean Moss, General Manager at BJWSA said in the release.
