The Island Packet has a report that the construction you see on Parris Island Gateway just up the road from the Bi-Lo is going to be a Marine Federal Credit Union.

How many credit unions does one town need you ask? Well I guess one more.

We have several branches of MCAS Federal Credit Union here in town. Anyone who lives or works in Beaufort County can become a member of that credit union.

According to the Marine Federal Credit Union website membership there is open to military and civilian personnel associated with Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Quantico, Virginia.

It's safe to assume benefits will also be opened up to all military and civilian personnel associated with Beaufort's three area bases.
