Bluffton's Sea Turtle Cinema, the newest and largest movie theatre in Beaufort County, announced May 3 that it had been sold to third largest theatre holding company in the country: Cinemark. 

Company Vice President of Marketing James Meredith expects the deal to be fully completed by May 5, and spoke of plans to transition the 12-screen theater into a "digital projection" cinema, although such changes would not affect business.
