It was an exciting day at Whale Branch Early College High School when they cut the ribbon for their new REAL Center furnished with more than $100,000 worth of high-tech learning tools from robotic Legos, to video editing, to interactive displays.

"The REAL center is an opportunity to showcase excellent educational practices and innovative resources in use," said Valerie Truesdale, Beaufort County Superintendent. "It is exciting to see our students and teachers reimagining how technology, space, and furniture can be integrated to support a wide variety of learning and teaching styles. Because of RM's initiative, other vendors such as Dell and LEGO are also donating equipment and instructional materials for the new learning space."

WTOC 11 was on scene for the event and has a nice video of what the center is all about; watch it here.

You can see one curious example of the stop motion video work produced by students at the school over here, and you can learn more about the Real Centers in this press release.
