On Thursday, a wind turbine display got quite a bit of attention--and helped to spread the word of turning wind into renewable energy.

"South Carolina has been slow in getting onto the renewable energy grid, but it's coming along," said Sam Kirkland, Wind Turbines of South Carolina co-owner.

The company was established in 2010 and has been involved in the installation of several South Carolina turbines. And Wind Turbines expects business to continue to grow.

"From North Myrtle Beach through Tybee Island, that's some of the best on- and off-shore wind on the whole Atlantic Coast," Kirkland said.
