(Update: The run is today at 10 a.m. and the weather forecast calls for just a chance of rain and a pleasant 73 degrees. Go out for a run, or just to watch and take in some great weather.)

It's just three weeks until the third annual Friends of Hunting Island 5K Walk/Run.

The run is Saturday, October 8, at 10 a.m. and you can register at Active.com (run $25, walk $15) or the day of the race starting at 9 am. Online registration closes midnight October 6. You will also need to pay the usual park entry fee at the park gate.

Runners, walkers, and supporters will gather at the park’s Nature Center, the entrance is just short of the Fripp Island bridge. Strollers are permitted but not pets. 

The race supports the group that began in 1993 and whose cause is to help the park.
