United Way of Lowcountry kicks off fundraising campaign (updated: Campaign falls short)

Reported September 7: The United Way of the Lowcountry is kicking off its annual fundraising campaign this Thursday with its second annual Day of Caring.

Through the Day of Caring the United Way is hoping groups and individuals will take on any number of area projects. Want to sign up for a project? You can do so here.

Thursday's kickoff rally will be held at 9 a.m. at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Coastal Carolina Medical Center and Hilton Head Regional Medical Center.
