Before the pros hit the street, Beaufort's kids get some biking help

At last year's kids race.

A few days before the pro cyclists hustle through downtown Beaufort at speeds that will make your hair stand up, the Beaufort Memorial Cycling Classic is giving the kids a chance to learn what it takes to hit the road.

The free kids' bike rodeo will run from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 1, in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital parking lot and will be an opportunity for the little ones to learn the rules of the road and to make sure their equipment is up to par.

There will be a family fun ride at 3 p.m.

Check out The Island Packet for full coverage of what's being offered up for the kids and check out the event details on the Classic's website

The pro cycling event is in downtown Beaufort on May 3 at 5 p.m. with the kids race at 4 p.m.
