Savannah Bridge Run is Saturday, so watch out if you're driving (Update: Video coverage)

Savannah River Bridge Run

The 2012 Savannah River Bridge Run is Saturday, December 1, so you better watch out if you're driving down.

First off, know that only one lane of the iconic bridge will be closed for the race that kicks off at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, but still you should expect delays through much of the day and before.

The kids run start at 8, the 5k at 8:15, and 10k at 9.

While the two inside lanes of the bridge will remain open to traffic, there will also be affects downtown as some streets will be closed to traffic start at midnight.

Last year some 6,000 runners came out, a good 1,000 more than the record set the year before.

If you'd still like to run, better hurry down — there's no race day registration and the expo closes at 7 p.m. Friday.

Oh, if you didn't know the bridge's official name is the Talmadge Memorial Bridge.
