Access to The Sands beach and boat landing will be closed Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, while crews perform routine maintenance on the access road.

The Sands beach access road will be graded and repaired to allow for sealing and striping of the existing asphalt from the parking area to the boat ramp. People will not be able to access the boat ramp, beach or the elevated walkway and observation tower while work is ongoing.

All work will be completed in time for the town’s Fourth of July celebrations.

Grading work will be completed by JOCO Construction of Beaufort, and the sealing\ and striping will be completed by Atlantic Asphalt of Bluffton. Charleston-based Applied Technology & Management is the lead engineer overseeing the work.
