Chance of snow flurries this late afternoon and evening for Beaufort

You might just get an early Christmas miracle out of this crazy cold snap: snow flurries.

There will certainly be no accumulation but cold air temperatures combined with a band of rain pushing east from Mississippi could be just the right mix for snow flurries, according to the National Weather Service.

The Service says, there could be "some precipitation making its way into southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina after dark. There have been a few reports of mainly light snow/flurries across Mississippi and Alabama today. However the main limiting factor with respect to precipitation is dry air in the lower levels of the atmosphere which will make it hard for precipitation coming out of the mid-level cloud deck to reach the surface at least in any significant amounts." There is a chance of "flurries across parts of southeast Georgia into extreme southern South Carolina."

Very remote, yet possible.

Stay bundled up and watch that window.
