Pro cycling returns to downtown Beaufort this Tuesday (heads up for traffic, too)

Just admit it, you really don't understand a whole lot about pro cycling. But it is a ton of fun to watch isn't it?

Well, your next chance to watch is this coming Tuesday, May 3, in downtown Beaufort with the fifth annual installment of the Beaufort Memorial Cycling Classic where more than 120 pro cyclists going round and round the downtown Beaufort .6 mile Bay-Scott-Craven-Newcastle track dozens of time.

75 times for 45 miles, to be exact.

It all starts with the free kids' races at 5 p.m. (registration 4 p.m.) with the women's race at 6 and the men's at 7:30 — and the women will be vying for $5,000 purse, and $10,000 in the men's.

We'll send you over to The Island News for the full rundown of what to expect.

And if their report isn't to your liking, try Bluffton Today's, and don't forget that the kid bike training rodeo and family fun ride is Sunday, May 1.
