Updated December 14: The Island Packet also has a profile of the Storybook Shoppe. Not sure we've ever seen so much coverage of a kids' book shop before.

And don't forget, the store's grand opening at its new Bluffton location is this Thursday.

Check out the Island Packet story here.

Update December 6: Lowcountry Child dropped by the new spot an has a profile on what's different and why Nancy Beaupre took her shop down the road; take a read here.

Update December 9: The Island Packet has also chatted with Beaupre.

Updated December 2: For those of you who loved the Storybook Shoppe and lamented its closing in Habersham, you'll be able to start back up again at the store at its new Bluffton location beginning December 16.

For more info on the grand opening celebration check out the shop's Facebook page.

Reported November 3: Perhaps you saw Ben Franklin there, or maybe even Santa Claus. Or maybe you've just brought your little ones there for a weekend storytelling and maybe to bring a treasure home with you.

However you got to Habersham's Storybook Shoppe, you're now going to have to make a trip out to Bluffton if you want to continue to visit.

The store announced via email that it's moving from its Beaufort-area location to historic Bluffton, 41A Calhoun Street to be exact. The Bluffton shop should be open by the end of this month.

Why the move? We'll let Miss Nancy tell you herself. Here's what she wrote in her email:

... an opportunity came up for me to lease a place in Bluffton and I just couldn't turn it down.  I have been looking for a shop to lease on Calhoun Street in the historic district since last May.  I have a lot of customers from that area and they have been asking me to please open a shop near them.

You can read the full email newsletter here.

Miss Nancy officially will close the Habersham shop this Friday, and will discount certain books by 50% from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday before she closes.

By the way, the shop's new location will be right across the street from the Cottage Restaurant, Bakery and Tea Room, which pretty much has the best breakfasts in Beaufort County. If you haven't tried the corned-beef hash there you must.
