In partnership with a number of other organizations including Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug abuse, the Human Services Alliance, and Local Fire Departments, the Beaufort County Sherriff's Office will be hosting a medicine cabinet clean-out event.

The purpose of the event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on saturday, May 7 at the Beaufort County public works-north on Shanklin road, is to reportedly "reach out to the citizens of Beaufort County with expired and leftover medicines in their home", because keeping these products may lead to "accidental poisoning."

There will be depository bins on site for attendees to dump their medication, which will then be disposed of by professional medical technicians.
