Beaufort's Plums to host dinner to support the Independence Fund (update: More than $1,000 raised)

Update August 19: Plums Restaurant hosted a special dinner to benefit The Independence Fund, a 501(c) 3 with a mission to provide support to our country’s wounded war veterans, on Tuesday August 16. Complete with beer pairings by Terrapin Beer Co. and a four-course meal by Plums’ Chef Josh Castillo, the dinner raised more than $1,000 for the organization.

The dinner featured speaker Commander Richard Jadick, author of “On Call in Hell.”  Jadick served as a physician in Iraq war zones, including the Battle of Fallujah, and is a founder of The Independence Fund.

 he funds raised will be directly applied toward the expenses for the severely injured veterans and caregivers registered to attend the Lt. Dan Weekend 2 taking place this September in downtown Beaufort.

Reported August 8: Plums will host the Stone Brewing Co. Dinner to benefit theIndependence Fund on Tuesday, August 10, 7 p.m. and is $50.

  • Indonesia barbeque chicken and curried shrimp
  • Korean Cucumber Salad
  • Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale

Dessert

  • Molten chocolate cake
  • Stone Smoked Porter
