High on the Hog 2012 was a success

Eric H. Doss/The Digitel

First annual fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity sold out of food both days, drew approximately 1400 people.

The first annual Habitat for Humanity High on the Hog BBQ competition, held at Whitehall Plantation on Ladys Island concluded on Saturday and proved to be a great fundraiser for Habitat.

We are still waiting for official numbers and details, but the reception from the Beaufort community was amazing.  Friday's event, Everything Lowcountry, ran out of food early, as did the BBQ competition on Saturday.

We were on site on Saturday so you can check out our pictures over at Facebook.  We'll provide an update with winners and fundraising totals.

Thanks again to the Beaufort community for supporting this very important organization.
