An exhibition featuring the chainsaw artwork of Todd Lynd will open at ARTworks in Beaufort with a reception this Friday and run through Nov. 2.

The Friday reception will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

According to ARTworks:

Lynd re-creates a thousand species of birds and animals in wood, with a special emphasis on the fauna of the Lowcountry, from egrets and owls to hammerhead sharks and crabs. He sculpts these wooden creatures with powerful chainsaws, creating life-size, free-standing, wall-hanging, interior/exterior pieces that sell nationally and are especially sought-after by interior designers because of Lynd's deft touch and attention to eco-detail.
