Celadon puts out a "Call for Artists"

This call for art is an opportunity for working artists to share their best work with the world, within the lush cultural cummunity of Celadon on Lady's Island, in the new Celadon Fine Arts Festival in May 2011.

The deadline for artists to submit is March 1, 2011.

The goal of this three-day (May 20-22) juried show is to select and present the highest caliber of fine art and crafts to our knowledgeable and discriminating audience.

Artists will compete for cash prizes totaling $3,000.

Applications are accepted through an online jury system. (http://www.beaufortcountyarts.com/celado...)
Please read all information online about the application & the show specifics before submitting your application. Should you have any questions, please contact ARTworks at 843-379-2787.

The application fee is $25, and artists will be asked to choose one category that most closely reflects submitted work (Oil/Acrylic; Watercolor; Drawing/Pastels; Graphics/Printmaking; Photography; Jewelry; Clay; Wood; Glass; Fiber; Metalwork; Sculpture; Mixed Media 2-D; Mixed Media 3-D; Other).

Please contact ARTworks, at 843-379-2787, prior to starting your application if you are planning to apply as an artist collaboration.

Art work for the Celadon Fine Arts Festival will be chosen by an independent jury from the national visual art community. Entries are assigned numbers and no artists' names or background information are used during the selection process.

Entries receive a numerical score from each juror, and the highest scores within each medium category are selected. The jury's decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be mailed out by March 15, 2011.
