The 2011 Books Sandwiched series of book reviews and discussions every Monday through February 28.

The series is free and open to the public with doors opening at 11:30 am. and running from noon to 1 p.m. Bring a lunch or purchase one at Outtakes Cafe next door to the Performing Arts Center. Refreshments will be available.

All are at the USCB Performing Arts Center at 801 Carteret Street. Past events moved to the bottom.

February 28, W. Brantley Harvey, Jr., reviews "Strom: The Complicated Personal & Political Life of Strom Thurmond" by Jack Bass and Marilyn Thompson.  Click to hear Brantley telling tales on Strom. Priceless stuff.

February 14, Fran Heyward Marscher reviews her book "Remembering the Way It Was in Beaufort, Sheldon and the Sea Islands."

Fran Heyward Marscher is a delightful woman, so it’s a double treat to hear her review one of her own books; head here to hear the Lowcountry tidal rhythm in her voice. It’s on Valentines Day and she’s the perfect fit. 

The event is free and open to everyone.  Bring your lunch or go to Shoofly Cafe on Boundary Street for the afternoon fun crowd, (near tennis courts).
