Update May 10: It took three months of waiting and a brief teaser opening and pause, but at long last Q on Bay is open seven days a week.
Noon to 10 p.m. everyday, in fact.
So far the vibe is this spot is very tasty, but I've yet to try it for myself, so until then let us know your thoughts in the comments.

First reporting February 14: Though the majority of American hearts are scrambling to deliver the perfect Valentine gift, one downtown Beaufort business is continuing on a different labor of love.
The anticipated facelift transpiring at the former site of Kathleen's Grill and Bar on Bay Street continues with great verve. Though there's a sincere interest in opening as soon as possible it's clear when you talk to Jason Bailey of Q's on Bay that there will be no rush to open the doors.
In fact like many who relish the element of surprise he's reserving the love of barbecue for perhaps a day when green is sure to bless the business with luck ... of the Irish, blue skies, and Lowcountry sunshine.
For now the windows don brown craft paper to keep this much anticipated Beaufort house of barbecue under wraps, but there's a hint our palates won't have to wait long to pair scrumptiousness with our favorite craft brew at Q's on Bay.
