Help a library and snag a deal at the Beaufort book sale (update: photos, $25,000)

Ken Hawkins/TheDigitel
The fall 2010 book sale runs through Sunday the 26th of September.

Update September 27: Well the book sale has ended but organizers are pretty happy with the results, saying that preliminary sales totals put the figure near $25,000 raised.

While it's below their record of $30,000 from a couple years ago they say they're pretty happy given the economy.

Update September 24: The book lover's fun has begun. If you have yet to make it down, there's a bunch of photos below of what to expect.

The sale runs for three days from Friday, September 24, to Sunday, September 26, at the Waterfront Park.

Things will get started Friday with a members-only preview from 10 a.m. to noon (anyone can join at the gate for only $10) and opens to the public from noon to 6. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

At 4 on Sunday non-profits are encouraged to come with boxes to take any leftovers for free as at 4:30 all leftover go the Goodwill. All proceeds go to the Beaufort County Public Library system. If you'd like to donate something bring it to the foyer or desk at the downtown Beaufort library on Scott Street
