The event aims to promote South Carolina emerging artists, recognized more than 60 artists from across South Carolina.

“My appreciation for printmaking is deeply rooted in the processes involved with creating and printing a matrix as well as the inherent qualities of the print itself,” Goebel said.  “The medium is full of compromises and quirks, and maintains an element of unpredictability from start to finish.”

Goebel received a cash prize of $2,000 and a Contemporaries’ membership for his piece, Wolfe Attire. Event guests voted for their favorite entry, and the People’s Choice Award went to Zachary Benefield for his piece, Wedgwood. He was also presented with an award and a cash prize of $300.
