Bear cub stolen from zoo thanks to an angry monkey and honey buns
Of course not the actual cast of the event. But still a dubious trio.

Update October 22: Montgomery has been sentenced in the incident to eight months. Read lots more about the verdict at The Spartanburg Herald-Journal.

Original post: A 7-month-old black bear cub went missing from the Hollywild Animal Park park in the upstate this weekend. The cub wound up a truck stop where it could be petted for $1.

Police say John Chadwick Montgomery, 31, and two other were involved in the “bearknapping” for reasons that aren’t entirely clear. Park workers said Montgomery originally went for a monkey, but when he was deterred they moved on to the bear cub, using honey buns to lure the cub to a vehicle.
