School supply giveaway after Hootie and the Blowfish concert
Friday’s Hootie & the Blowfish concert pooled much for giveaway at Burke High School where “students could come and pick up book-bags, notebooks, shoes and even get haircuts,” according to ABC News 4.
The Post and Courier has a write-up of the giveaway, saying in part:
Keighley Skelton, 25, and Jessica Holley, 26, drove down from Columbia for the concert. The two elementary school teachers brought crayons, pencils and notebooks. “We always know that there is a great need for school supplies,” Skelton said.
More back-to-school freebies are available today (August 17) at the City of Charleston’s First Day Festival.
