Sanford trip fueling VP speculation
Gov. Sanford, out of the woods and into the White House? Maybe yet.

The notion of Sanford as McCain’s VP was all but dead, then it wasn’t, and now it’s back on.

Our governor will be attending John McCain’s event in Colorado next month on August 14-15, just two weeks before the GOP convention.

The Colorado event is tro recognize donor’s to McCain’s bid for president, so it’s a rather high-profile visit for a governor who wasn’t to supportive of McCain when the primary season was at its height.

Still, many other names are still floating for McCain’s VP, including: Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee, Charlie Crist, Tim Pawlenty and Bobby Jinda.

Keep up with our nimble governor on our Mark Sanford topic page.
