Polls: McCain strong in South Carolina again
McCain’s strength in South Carolina has reemerged in recent polls, with McCain leading Obama 53% to 40%, and some 78% to 15% with S.C. whites.
Read more stories on this subject in our 2008 election topic page.The news comes of the 13 point difference comes after Obama first lead and then was 6 points behind McCain.
Those white numbers make it extremely difficult to make a go of this state [for Obama]. Perhaps that’s why the Obama campaign talks more about Georgia than they do about South Carolina.
