The Town of Mount Pleasant announced that it plans to acquire and expand into a 10,000-square-foot on Houston Northcutt Boulevard.
Engineering firm Thomas & Hutton will sell its office for $2.8 million so the town can alleviate crowding at its existing 25,000-square-foot Town Hall, located behind the Thomas & Hutton office.
The town’s current building is an old school, and the office purchase frees the town from having to expand into a nearby football field.
The deal is set to happen in about 30 days, and will be financed using tax increment financing, impact fee revenue, and the general fund.
