The Charleston Academy of Music is hosting the Jose Artigas Symphony Orchestra from Uruguay. That orchestra will play in concert with the Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry (YOLOW).

The concert takes place on Sunday, November 2, at 4 p.m. at the Sottile Theatre. Tickets are $10 in advance, by calling 843-805-7794.

Charleston will be the orchestra’s first concert location on their tour, followed by an engagement at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York, and another concert in Washington D.C.

During their visit to Charleston, the Artigas will also be performing for students at the Charleston Charter School for Math & Science, for patients at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Children’s hospital, and the residents at the Bishop Gadsen Retirement Community.
