Story of pot bust suspect gets deeper

Smart, charitable, and lucky are three words you’ll see associated with the suspect from North Charleston’s nearly 500-pound pot bust.

Rashad Muhammad is accused of cleverly using charitable donations to area organizations as a cover for pot smuggling.

And police say the strategy has help Muhammad elude them for years, The Post and Courier discusses:

Investigators got a break recently when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents apprehended a man who provided information about Muhammad, Nathan said. ICE agents passed on the information to North Charleston police.
