North Charleston Police reinventing paddy wagon concept for efficiency

Is the paddy wagon being reinvented for today?

In one of those thing that strikes me as an obvious solution that it’s almost hard to believe it’s not yet been done, North Charleston Police are looking to pool criminals for transport to jail so that way individual officers won’t have to waste time ferrying suspects to jail and waiting in line while they’re booked.

The Post and Courier reports:

Dedicating a special unit to the task of prisoner transportation is an idea that has been catching on. Charleston police started a similar shuttle last year and have been pleased with the results. Mount Pleasant also has a shuttle van it uses for jail runs whenever it has two suspects or more.

Here’s the story.
