Midlands police station robbed, assault rifle taken

Robbers broke into a small police station outside of Columbia and took an SKS assault rifle, drug paraphernalia, and drug the station’s 1,500 pound safe onto the lawn before finally giving up and leaving it.
The Perry Police Department does not appear to have any concrete leads. The town has a population of some 230.
