Kip Darrell Black’s family is suing two years after 38-year-old Black was killed after 10 jolts from a Taser.
Named as defendants are both North Charleston police and Taser International. It’s certainly not the first time Taser’s have been the target of lawsuits, but it is one of the first times locally.
The lawsuit alleges that police “knew or should have known” that too many jolts could kill Black.
An earlier and routine investigation found no police wrongdoing.
Head over to The Post and Courier for details on the lawsuit.
We’ll keep you posted.

“The lawsuit alleges that police ‘knew or should have known’ that too many jolts could kill black.”
That has quite a different intended meaning than was likely intended. You digitel folk should watch your capitalizations especially when dealing with names that could be confused with races.
