Not the cruiser that was stolen, but we suspect the kid has had more fun in one than most people do.

A Dillon boy was arrested after he allegedly drove a police car around to exercise his supposed interest in law enforcement.

The 13-year-old’s name hasn’t been released, but apparently he watched someone enter the security code on the police department’s door, remembered it, and then used it to enter the building (twice) to retreave a car’s set of keys.

Police say the boy drove the car around town, even stopping by his mother’s home. And, eventually, residents reported seeing the boy driving the car to police.

The boy has been charged with larceny and second-degree burglary, while his mother was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
