Old midlands country store may get a rebirth

The building has seen better days, and may have better to come.

An iconic landmark on the outskirts of Columbia, The Sandhill Mercantile and Motor Co. thrived from its construction in the 1910s until its closure in 1983, and the building has sat and decayed ever since then. But, perhaps no longer. Victor and Gwen Lattuca are working to restore the business.

Go read all about it at The State, and be sure to check out their photo gallery.
