MUSC sets fundraising record

The Medical University of South Carolina brought in more than $67 million in fundraising for the 2007-08 fiscal year, according to several news sources. That number includes gifts, pledges, and payments, marking a new record for the school.

From the Charleston Regional Business Journal:

That amount outpaced last year’s $63.6 million fundraising total by almost 6%.

During the fiscal year that ended June 30, the school received $35.1 million from foundations and nonprofit organizations; $24.4 million from individual benefactors, including patients, alumni and other supporters; and $7.7 million from businesses and corporations.

The Business Journal has more details, and The Post and Courier also has a write-up on the fundraising record.
