Concert Association kicks off season with Warsaw Philharmonic

Kicking off its 72nd year, the 2009 the Charleston Concert Association is opening on Monday, November 3, with the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Here’s a bit about the night from the association:

Warsaw Philharmonic History

The first musical perform ance of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra took place on November 5, 1901 in the newly opened Philharmonic Hall. The artistic director and principal conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra Emil Młynarski conducted this inaugural concert. The soloist was the world-renowned pianist, composer and future statesman Ignacy Jan Paderewski.

Buy tickets online for $15 to $60. The performance is at the Gaillard at 77 Calhoun Street, downtown.
