Check out Ishmael at Eye Level Art

Artists, Tyler Blanton (she’s dropped out) and Ishmael, will have their unique, contemporary art displayed at Eye Level Art on Saturday, November 15.

Eye Level Art says:

His upcoming show this November bristles with change, it marks departures and recognizes new accomplishments, it highlights differences and celebrates a passion for graphic quality and innovation.

Ishmael’s latest work is organic and haunting, referencing his rebellious creative history while dramatically signifying his shift towards fine art. The work on display is refined and mature, but retains his trademark spirit and individuality. Innovative techniques inspire him— and one will notice smoke, rust and copper in the work.

The opening will be an exciting and unique affair with a ‘shop’ containing merchandise made in collaboration with Ishmael, Johnny Pundt and Eye Level Art. Free standing murals, refreshments, and new work from an artist you love promise to make this an unforgettable experience.

Charleston City Paper also has some words on Tyler Blanton’s work.

So, if Kulture Klash doesn’t match your scene criteria, then definitely check out Tyler and Ishmael’s work at Eye Level Art at 50 Queen Street in downtown Charleston this Saturday from 6-10 p.m.

Tyler Blanton dropped out of the show. It is now a solo show for Ishmael. Different feel but it’s still going to be a grand exhibition.

Aha. That explains the mixed messages we were seeing. Thanks!

Ishmael’s show was great. There were a wide variety of pieces, and a lot of folks turned out to see the show. Definitely worth it. And it wasn’t at 50 Queen. It was at the Eye Level Warehouse on Heriot off Upper King.
